How comments go on Web 2.0 Sites

I originally saw this on CrunchNotes as a way the comment streams go on TechCrunch. I think this is how most comment streams go on most sites these days.

This is brought to you by the fine folks of CollegeHumor.com. Warning: There is language and innuendo in the video.

Pownce releases mobile version, maybe it will stem the downward turn

December 31, 2007 · Filed Under Social Networks · Comment

For those of you out there who have a mobile device and use Pownce has a mobile version. Just go to m.pownce.com.

It is still in Beta, so report any bugs. It still needs some work, but at least the folks at Pownce are developing one.

Thanks to my friend Chris who ran a trend on Google comparing Twitter vs Pownce. It is pretty interesting.

I had asked a question on Twitter asking about if anyone used Pownce anymore. What I was finding that in following the same people on Pownce and Twitter, they made more posts on Twitter than on Pownce.

According to Google Trends, Twitter is steady or rising, while Pownce is slowly declining.

I would be interested in your take on things. Let me know through a comment here.

Heard this video on the episode 40 of Net@Nite.

New Media Douchebag.  It is pretty funny.

Oh, if you listen to the episode 40 of Net@Nite, avoid Cherry Chocolate Rain.

What is quarterlife?

November 24, 2007 · Filed Under Entertainment, Social Networks · Comment

Just found this site that is producing a network-quality series for the Internet called quarterlife.

It is from the producers of the “My So-Called Life” and seems to be similar to the movie Singles. In addition, they are setting it up a social network for “doers, thinkers and artists.”

Even though I am not in my twenties any more, this show intrigues me and I will probably watch a few episodes.  I am also interested in watching the social network side of this project.  Getting twenty-somethings to discuss wide-ranging issues that affect them.

They have a few episodes and new ones are released on “blogging” about her life.  It helps to explain the series and I am sure will help when I start watching the episoeds.

Let me know what you think.  Does this series grab your attention?
