Dusting – It is a bad trip

Well this has becoming the new huffing and it is much more dangerous.

KUSA in Denver had a story this evening on an aspiring teenager who decided to huff when he was taking a bath. He passed out and became paralyzed and he died.

One manufacturer, Memorex, will make it harder to dust by using a bitterent to make it unpleasant. You can read more on this story on Gizmodo.

This is a step, but education that this is going on a big step. I wasn’t even aware that this was happening. It is dangerous and quite stupid.

Kids, don’t do this. It could kill you or ruin your life.

Take a look at the story on the Today Show.

A Great Testimonial – Death by Veganism

In an op-ed in the New York Times, “Death by Veganism” Nina Planck wrote a great story about the nutrition that a baby needs.

For those of you who haven’t heard, a couple was convicted of murder, involuntary manslaughter, and curelty for only feeding their baby soy milk and apple juice. Their baby died.

In her article, Planck writes about the nutrition that a baby needs and it is lot more than a vegan diet offers.

The best thing for a baby is breast milk and my wife breast feed our two children. But if the mother is not getting the necessary nutrients, the baby will not get the necessary nutrients.

A vegan diet may be good for some people, but you need to be careful and make sure that you get the right nutrients. But if you are a mother who is breastfeeding or vegan parents, it is necessary to make sure that you and your baby are getting the correct nutrients to grow a healthy baby.

Tough Time for our family

It is a tough time for our family.

Our dog, a golden retriever, has been fighting lymphoma since last June and the chemotherapy is no longer working.

We had enrolled him in a special study at Colorado State University Vet Clinic and School and we thought it would give us a longer time with him.

CSU was nice and allowed us to do the chemo at Alameda East Vet Clinic.  They were wonderful throughout the whole process.

We have a little time left with him and will make the most of it.  He is a wonderful dog and a big member of our family.

He will be missed.

What is happening with customer service

I am wondering what is happening to customer service in this country. Where has it gone?

We decided to take the kids to McDonald’s (Zuni and 128th) because of various errands this evening, don’t worry it is not a regular thing. Well the play area was a disaster and there was spilled soft drinks on the floor. The tables were dirty and it was not a great place to eat. The same in the main dining room. I even had to clean the table that we ate at. It was disgusting.

Then I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some groceries and get some lunch meat. Well the Safeway near our house decided to close their deli at 7 pm because someone was sick. It is crazy. They couldn’t find someone to run the deli? It is crazy and a great inconvenience to work all day and go grocery shopping and not be able to get what you want because they didn’t schedule enough people.

Customer service has disappeared in this country. It is amazing to me how companies can do this to their customers. It never used to be like this. I wish that they would get with it.

Dining out for life – Project Angel Heart

Well it is now the end of April and what does that mean? Dining out for Life on April 26, 2007.

This is the annual fundraiser for Project Angel Heart.

Project Angel Heart is a non-profit organization that delivers food to home-bound people who are suffering from HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses throughout metro Denver and Colorado Springs.

It does not get any better than this for a non-profit organization.

To donate to Project Angel Heart, all you have to do is go out to eat on April 26 at one of the participating restaurants and a portion of your bill is donated to Project Angel Heart by the restaurant. The servers usually donate a part of their tips also. Last year they raised over $330,000.

Go out to eat on the 26th and donate to a great cause.

Supreme Court Rules the Correct Way

Today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in Gonzales v. Carhart to uphold the ban on partial birth abortions. In my opinion, this was the correct ruling.

A partial birth abortion is done in the mid-term months and involves partially delivering the fetus and then crushing the skull to help it come out easier.

The people who would like to continue this say it is their constitutional right to do this. What part of the constitution allows this inhumane treatment of a living thing. It is not constitutional and the Supreme Court saw it that way.

After watching my kids grow in my wife’s womb, I don’t really see a need for abortion. The ultra-sounds that I saw show me that these fetuses are living and breathing humans and their life needs to be protected. What about their constitutional right?

To me, many of these people have abortions for convenience rather than a medical need. I think that if the life of the mother is in danger, then the doctor should do what needs to be done, but that should be the only reason.

Good job Supreme Court.
