Colorado Congressional Delegation shouldn’t take Army for granted over Piñon Canyon

In today’s edition of the Denver Post Representative Mike Coffman nailed it when he said that Democrats in the Colorado delegation are taking the U.S. Army for granted.

In the article, GOP lawmaker raises stakes in Piñon battle, Coffman states that “the legislation being prepared by Colorado Democrats to permanently prohibit the expansion of the Army’s Piñon Canyon training area would severely undermine the future of Fort Carson, setting off a devastating economic ripple effect in the southern part of the state.”

What people, especially Congress, doesn’t fully understand is that U.S. Army and the military is a tremendous economic force and driver in southern Colorado and throughout the state. Do people really believe that if Fort Carson is no longer, will Peterson Air Force Base remain? The two are dependent on each other.

If you don’t think so, look what happened to the miliary in the San Francisco-Bay Area. Continue reading

To the person complaining about our dog barking…

Just come talk to us.

You don’t need to call and complain to the homeowner’s association, you don’t need to call and complain to the police. Just come speak with us.

Oh, the time you called and complained to the police? The dog would have been inside.

Just come talk to us. The dog is just a puppy and we are working with her on the barking. And she doesn’t bark that much, not more than any other dog.

To the City of Westminster, the dog is just barely old enough to have a license and we just got her spayed. We are in the process of submitting the application for a license.

What is up with the NBA?

The playoffs this year is the prime example of why I have lost interest in the NBA.

The officiating is poor, the players act like babies, the schedule is all over the place, and the games have devolved into professional wrestling matches.

For example, the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks last played on Tuesday. Under a normal schedule the two should be playing tonight, but no. They won’t play until Saturday. How does that help with the flow of a series? It doesn’t.

The officials are just concerned with protecting their star players. Take a look at what Kobe did last night. He threw an elbow into the chest of Ron Artest, but was he called for a foul? NO!

Artest was called for something, but I don’t think he fouled Bryant. Then Artest gets tossed.

The players are fighting, hitting, etc. This is not basketball. The Magic – Celtics game is a perfect example last night when one of the players slapped another across the head.

The NBA needs to improve their image or they will continue to lose more fans and more money.
