Gizmodo Pulls Stupid Prank at CES!

For those of you who haven’t heard, Gizmodo did a real weird and stupid prank at CES this week. During press conferences and meetings, staff from Gizmodo went around with there TV B Gone and were turning off all the TVs they were using for their presentations.

That is so not cool. These are companies who are trying to make an impression of their new products or product line so they can make a living. To go around turning off the TVs so you can laugh about it is just sick.

Gizmodo is going to be lucky not to be sued by one of these companies.

CES issued a statement on what they are doing today. Unless something happens to Gizmodo and Gawker Media, then the punishment is too light.

If you are reading this blog post, you should not read or support Gizmodo or Gawker media and any future tech conference should ban them from attending, starting with Macworld next week.

I think Loren Feldman from 1938 Media summed it up real well in a blog post, Gizmodo Guys are Real Dopes.

Spokesman-Review Censors Blog, Removes Post That Had Negative Comments

The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Wash., runs a blog that discusses sports in the region. The have entries for the Washington State Cougars, Idaho Vandals, Eastern Washington Eagles, Spokane Chiefs, and local high school sports. It is called Sportslink.

Last week prior to the University of Idaho/Boise State men’s basketball game, after not having any posts about the Idaho Vandals for some time, writer Greg Lee responded to a comment in the post describing the Vandals previous game. The comment was wondering what had happened to the Vandal coverage.

His response: Continue reading

Flock worth it so far

I am playing with Flock.  What I am finding is that it is versatile and integrates really easily and well into my social network sites.

You can set up your blogs, twitter, facebook, flickr, and integrate it all into one browser.

I am still playing around with it, but I think it is definitely worth trying so far.  I am really impressed.

More soon.

NYC comedian finds lodging at NJ Ikea store

NYC comedian finds lodging at NJ Ikea store : Nation : The Rocky Mountain News

This is a pretty interesting way to spend a week, living in IKEA.

You can check out his experience at: www.marklivesinikea.com

Here is episode 1. It looks pretty crazy.

I can’t image how much publicity IKEA is getting because of this. It probably isn’t costing them too much to do this either.

Interesting evening in New Hampshire

Well the polls did really well in the Republican primary, but were totally off base for the Democrats (so far).

John McCain won really easily on the Republican side over Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, but Hillary Clinton is doing quite well leading the Democratic primary in New Hampshire for now over Barack Obama and John Edwards. Edwards will finish third with Obama and Clinton fighting for first and second.

This is so despite trailing in the polls by 10 to 12 points yesterday in the final polls of the primary. If she wins or even finishes a close second, it will definitely be a big launch for her into the rest of the primaries.

It was amazing to me that before the results started coming in today how the pundits on the cable news networks were calling for major changes for Hilary, some even coming to the point that if Barack Obama wins by too much, the Democratic primary was over.

Another interesting sign is that Ron Paul does quite well in fundraising and publicity on the Internet, but when it comes to votes, he is a distant fourth. If he has all this popularity and it was sincere, he should be doing a lot better.

This is going to be a marathon and it could be that when the primaries are done and we head to the conventions, that there will not be a clear-cut nominee for the nomination of President from either of the two major parties.

It is going to be fun.

Britney blindsided by Dr. Phil

Britney blindsided by Dr. Phil – Celebrities- msnbc.com

I first want to say that I hope Britney gets the help that she needs. She definitely has gone off the deep end.

This visit by Dr. Phil looks more like a publicity stunt and ratings booster for Dr. Phil then someone who wants to help her. If he wanted to help her, he would have worked through the family and Britney to arrange a visit. Not just show up.

I am amazed that he was able to get through hospital security. It shows that there are two sets of rules. One for us normal folks and one for celebrities.

Fitness: Locate Fitness Centers with Gym Ticket

Fitness: Locate Fitness Centers with Gym Ticket

This was on Lifehacker and the only problem that I found with this post is that gymticket.com does not have all the gyms or fitness centers in its database.

I workout at Fitness 19 and none of their locations are found in their database near me. It would be good, but they need to do a better job at including more locations then the couple major chains.
