Preseason Football Polls Questionable

Well the preseason football polls and the only thing that I think that they have correct is that USC is ranked number 1.

The rest is pretty questionable.

One of the biggest questions is that Boise State is ranked at all.  They are probably getting votes for their amazing win against Oklahoma in last years Fiesta Bowl.

Boise State has lost a lot of starters from last years team and is in search of a quarterback and the two vying for that position didn’t get much playing time last year.  The only thing for sure is that they will have a good running game.

I am especially concerned that the voters ranked Boise State ahead of Hawaii.  Hawaii is a pretty dangerous team who will dominate the games in the islands and will put a lot of points up elsewhere.  I think Hawaii will be better than these polls are suggesting.

Check out both polls on ESPN.

Could Alaska’s “Hottie” Governor Be the GOP’s VP Nominee in 2008?

Could Alaska’s “Hottie” Governor Be the GOP’s VP Nominee in 2008?

This is an interesting article about the Governor of Alaska.  She is really working to shape things up and is holding everyone accountable.

Even though she is mentioned as a possible candidate for Vice-President in the 2008 run, it would be tough because she has only been the Governor for a short time and lacks name recognition.

But, she has one thing that Hilary does not have and that is she has leadership experience.  She is leading the largest state in the Union and she defeated a long-term politician in the race for Governor.

It could be an interesting addition to the ticket for the GOP in 2008.

The Rockies Pitching Struggling

If the Rockies want to get to the playoffs, then the pitching needs to get more consistent.

The last two nights they have given up two big innings.  Thursday was a 9 run inning and tonight was a 5 run inning.  Take those away and the Rockies have a three game winning streak.

I am rooting hard and I hope that I am not disappointed.

Rockies Offense Wakes Up

Well it took until the sixth inning but the Rockies woke up offensively and put up 13 runs over three innings and beat the Cubs 15-2.

It got started by a Jamey Carroll grand slam home run in the sixth and they kept piling it on.

Way to go Rockies.  Let’s see some more tomorrow and split the series with the Cubs.  Lets just hope the Diamondbacks start losing some games.

Go Rockies.

Cubs Haunt Rockies

I don’t know what it is, but the Chicago Cubs haunt the Colorado Rockies.

There is always one team that you have trouble with, and this year for the Rockies I think that team is the Cubs.

The Rockies were swept earlier this year at Wrigley Field and so far in this weekend series the Cubs are taking it to the Rockies, holding the top offense in the league to only a couple of runs.

Lets hope the Rockies offense comes alive for the remaining two games and the Rockies can split the series and get back in the NL West race.

Go Rockies!

Getting your inbox to zero

This is something that I am constantly trying to do and accomplish. It is hard, but when I achieve a zero inbox I find I am more productive and responsive.

Merlin Mann just did a presentation at Google and discussed getting to “Inbox Zero”. It is an interesting talk and perfect for those who study and need a refresher on “Getting Things Done” or as we know it, GTD.
