My parents are in town this weekend and we were headed to Flatiron Crossing to cool down on an extremely warm June afternoon in the Mile High City and we decided to have dinner at P.F. Chang's China Bistro. I just want to begin the service was great. The drinks were out quickly the appetizers came as soon as we finished ordering the rest of the meal and the dinner was served as soon as the appetizer plates were removed. The waiter provided good service and checked on us at appropriate times.
The appetizers were amazing. We had the Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wrap and Crab Wontons.
I have had lettuce wraps at other restaurants and have never been impressed. But these did not disappoint. They had good flavor, the lettuce didn't fall apart. And the sauce that was mixed at your table added to the flavors. A definite recommendation. The crab wontons were similar to others that I had, but were good.
The dinner we ordered was served family style and consisted of Crispy Honey Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, and Mu Shu Chicken.
The Crispy Honey Chicken was sweet and crispy and my daughter thought they were like chicken nuggets. The Beef with Broccoli had some spice to it, but would be better if it would be a little bit spicier.
The best thing that we had was the Mu Shu Chicken. The filling had some good spice and flavor and was stuffed excellently by our waiter at the table. He even went and got another pancake for us so we all could have one.
Overall, this was a great experience for dinner. The food, the service, and atmosphere were great.
The only thing that I would recommend to P.F. Changs is to improve their beer selection. There are many more great beers out there and limiting them to Fat Tire, Kirin and another domestic is quite limiting to those of us who like great beer.
You get quite creative with your food and it serves you well. But it would be good to get creative with your beer selection.
Finally, this is not really family friendly. The don't have a menu dedicated for kids. So if you take your younger kids, make sure that you order something that they might like.
