But in the sixth, the Yankees put together a couple of hits and got a run across. But in the bottom of the sixth, Matt Holliday crushed a 442 foot home run up onto the concourse in left field to give the Rockies the lead for good.
It should have been at least 3-1 at the end of the sixth inning, but home plate umpire Tim Welke blew a call when he called Todd Helton out at home, when all the replays showed that Helton got his hand down before the tag.
In the seventh, Jeff Francis came out and shut-down the Yankees with three quick outs and was done for the night. He finishes with the win and a career high 9 strike outs. Way to go Jeff.
When the Rockies came up to hit in the seventh, the Rockies continued the pounding of Pettitte with four more runs. The big damage was the two-out, two-run triple by Matsui.
The Rockies cruised the rest of the night and get another win. If all the scores stay the same, they will only be 4.5 games back of the Padres.
The series finishes tomorrow afternoon when the Rockies go for the sweep.
Let's go Rockies!
