I like good beer, especially IPA's, and when I stopped for lunch on Friday at the Breckenridge Brewery & Pub in Breckenridge, Colorado, I had to try the 471 Double IPA. The 471 Double IPA is part of the Breckenridge Brewery's Small Batch Series. You know you are in trouble when they tell you that they only serve the draft in 10-ounce servings because it is 9.2% alcohol by volume. This is quite a bit for a beer when most hover around the 6 to 7 percent range.
When it arrived it looked real good and had a nice aroma about it. When I tasted it, it was hoppy, but not overwhelming. My sister in-law was with me and she tasted it and ordered one for herself right-away.
It had great flavor, was smooth, and lingered just long enough on my taste buds.
The 471 Double IPA was so good, I bought a six-pack for a BBQ this evening. I think that one is left and that will have to do for tomorrow's dinner.
If you are in an area where they are selling 471 Double IPA, I would definitely recommend that you buy a six-pack or get it on draft. Breckenridge keeps up the tradition of good beer with this one.
