From Spring to Winter
Well spring has been short-lived in Denver. After the last few days of mid-60’s and 74 today, winter returns tomorrow.
The weather forecasters were telling us that the weather coming for Sunday wouldn’t be a problem and that at most it would be flurries. But it is now worse.
We are supposed to get 3-6 inches at our house with more nearby. And it is supposed to be quite windy, so we may see blizzard conditions. Great job weather forecasters.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am loving the snow. It means that we are having a great water year and everything is going to be quite green. After many dry years, the reservoirs should be full and we may be able to make a dent in filling other reservoirs in the west.
Let it snow, but it would be good to have some better forecasting so we can be prepared for it.
Weather Channel, Site Could Go On Auction Block
Weather Channel, Site Could Go On Auction Block | WebProNews
The Weather Channel may be going on the auction block and the prize will be weather.com.
The article tries to play up the asking price, probably around $5 million. WebProNews was comparing it to the sale of Business.com for $350 Million. But the buyer is not only getting a website, they are getting one of the leading channels on cable and satellite that has no competition.
It is wrong to compare the sale of Weather.com to Business.com. It is not even close.
First Big Snow Hits Denver
Well the first big snowfall of the season is hitting Denver. It is nice to see. (Let’s see if I am saying that in a month or two.)
We need the moisture and the mountains are getting hammered. If you want to ski the Colorado Rockies, now is the time. They are measuring the snow in feet, so now is a good time to go.
Let’s hope this is a good sign to come for the winter. We need the water out west and the winter snowfall is how we get most of it.
YEAH!
Keep the snow machine humming and dumping snow in Colorado.
