Evernote Upgrade Coming

March 30, 2008 · Filed Under Time Management · Comment

I have tried Evernote a couple of times, but because they do not have a way to sync without hauling a USB key around. It was just too hard to try and use at work, at home, or on the road.

Well they now have a version that will allow you to use the web and other devices that you may use to take notes and use. To me, that is a good step in the right direction and I look forward to the upgrade.

Merlin Mann has posted his presentation from Macworld on New Time and Attention Sinks. It is pretty interesting and I learned a lot about how many times I am really distracted from getting my things completed.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Evernote Portable is the Giveaway of the Day.

This is an excellent opportunity to get a good note-taking program.  The nice thing is that it runs on your usb thumb drive.  You can run it on any computer and not leave a trace.

Try it.  It won’t cost you anything.  But you have to download it and activate it by tomorrow midnight (12/28/2007 @ 11:59 PM).

Make sure your filing system consists of unholy amounts of papers and crap strewn around your entire physical life - My office is too full of stuff to make room for a filing cabinet! I’ve had this “unorthodox” filing system for years and it’s only let me down… well, a couple of times. But who has the time to organize when you have as much stuff as I do!

I try to practice GTD, but I have been allowing too many distractions to come in, I have let my email become my filing cabinet, and I have not done a review.

I am constantly trying to get going with Getting Things Done by David Allen. I have read his book and keep trying to practice his techniques.

It is not easy, but once you get rolling, it is pretty easy, but it is also easy to fall off-the-wagon.

GTD has helped me become more productive at home and in my job.

I saw this on Lifehacker, David Allen on Managing Your Stuff with GTD.
