WordPress 2.5 Tomorrow

For all of you who use the stand-alone version of WordPress, WordPress 2.5 is released tomorrow, March 10.

This looks to be a substantial release with a lot of new cool features.

To see what is coming for WordPress 2.5, check out the official WordPress site.

To see a discussion and summary, check out the blog post in the Blog Herald by Lorelle VanFossen, WordPress 2.5 in Two Weeks, New Hot Media Library, Instant Upgrades, Theme Designers Lack Inspiration, More Plugin Vulnerabilities Found.

I haven’t downloaded any of the betas, but I will be updating this as soon as I can.

Great Blog

My sister in-law just moved from New York City to Madison, Wisc., and she has started a blog to share her experiences moving from one of the biggest cities in the world, to a decent size city in the Midwest.

You can find her posts at Big Apple Cheese.

The writing is great and the posts are pretty interesting describing the differences between the two cities.

Take some time and enjoy.

WordPress 2.3.2

There is a security update for WordPress, version 2.3.2.

According to their post today, it fixes some urgent security problems.

WordPress 2.3.2 is an urgent security release that fixes a bug that can be used to expose your draft posts. 2.3.2 also suppresses some error messages that can give away information about your database table structure and limits and stops some information leaks in the XML-RPC and APP implementations. Get 2.3.2 now to protect your blog from these disclosures.

Twitter

Well I am trying Twitter to see how it works.

I have resisted it so far, but the ease it provides to publish quick thoughts and rambles makes it easy to use.

I am still going back and forth trying to decide if Twitter or Pownce is better, but for now, it is Twitter. Who knows, I might use both.

I have installed Twitter Tools by Alex King and will be using that. It looks the most functional and provides the best services.

Let me know what you think and let me know if you prefer Twitter or Pownce and why.
