For those of you who use WordPress to run your blog, version 2.7.1 has been released.
Just want to keep you updated.
I just tried to update to Twitter Tools 1.5 and it wouldn’t authenticate my username and password. It said it couldn’t find me.
I rolled back to my previous version and it is working fine. I don’t know what the problem is, but I really like this plugin.
For those of you who haven’t updated, WordPress 2.6 is now out and you should update.
I have been running it a little bit and have not seen any problems.
The one function I do like is the plug-in management. The previous versions put all the plug-ins together, whether they were active or not. WordPress 2.6 separates the active plugins from the disabled ones. It is nice.
Give it a try! At least do it for all of us who are on the Internet and protect us from viruses and other bad things.
After Forays With ABC and HBO, a Video Blogger Returns to Video Blogging – New York Times
Well Amanda Congdon has found out that the grass is not always greener and is returning to independent media.
Mainstream media does not always take kind to changing their culture and the culture of vloggers is out there compared to how they like to do things.
I am happy for this and I look forward to see what she develops on this new series, “Sometimes Daily,” of video blogging. It will be an interesting look at life through Amanda.
This video is from about a month ago, but is pretty interesting. It is a good discussion about the future of WordPress and some of the things that they are working on.
At least I found it interesting.
I use WordPress and have always struggled with the difference between categories and tags. There has been no real analogy for those so I could place it in my mind on how to use them.
Well I was listening to The WordPress Podcast and they were discussing the best part of WordCamp Dallas and someone put it into perspective for me.
The best way I have seen it described is that tags are the index and categories are the table of contents. It has really helped me understand and fine-tune my blog.
Thanks for doing The Voices of WordCamp Dallas. It has really helped me and I wasn’t even there.
Twitter hiccups through a semi-outage | Webware
Well I have been having problems with Twitter also. I am only getting updates from people who I have added recently. If I have been following someone for quite some time, no updates.
At least they are working on this, but it is quite frustrating. Every time that Twitter does some sort of update or change, it really messes up. You would think that they would test these things out before rolling them out to the production servers.
I would transition completely to Pownce, but the community is not there yet. If the community builds there, then I may move completely that way. Otherwise I am stuck with a service that is not quite there yet.
Let’s hope this comes back quick because I miss my Twitter updates.
