Wordpress – Categories vs Tags

I use Wordpress and have always struggled with the difference between categories and tags. There has been no real analogy for those so I could place it in my mind on how to use them.

Well I was listening to The WordPress Podcast and they were discussing the best part of WordCamp Dallas and someone put it into perspective for me.

The best way I have seen it described is that tags are the index and categories are the table of contents. It has really helped me understand and fine-tune my blog.

Thanks for doing The Voices of WordCamp Dallas. It has really helped me and I wasn’t even there.
