Why can’t Hollywood develop a good, original movie?
Take this movie that they are creating now, Speed Racer. This movie is a remake of a Japanese animated cartoon in the 1970′s that was amazing at the time. But the basic premise was already done.
Other sequels, remakes, or based upon other work include:
- Shrek 3
- Spiderman 3
- Ocean’s Thirteen
- Fantastic Four
- Nancy Drew
- Transformers
- Hairspray (For at least the second time)
- The Simpsons
- Underdog
- Rush Hour 3
…and many more.
It would be nice to see some good, inventive, provocative, thoughtful, and entertaining movies. But I don’t think that Hollywood has it in her.
